Am I a Good Candidate for a Thigh Lift and Tightening for Women?
Thighplasty is suitable for women whose thighs have excess stubborn fat deposits, loose excess skin, and cellulite. The procedure can be helpful for all women with these issues, regardless of age.
Women who have experienced significant weight loss find this to be an excellent solution for removal of excess tissue. After dramatic weight loss, the skin of the thighs often has trouble shrinking back down to conform to the new underlying contours. Additionally, pockets of excess fat may remain.
To qualify for this procedure, the candidate must be in overall good health. They must also not smoke, since this can affect healing and cause complications. Since the procedure can be physically and mentally taxing, the candidate must be psychologically prepared to undergo the transformation.
How Does a Thigh Lift and Tightening for Women Work?
Before your surgery can be scheduled, you will meet with Dr. Emer for a consultation. He will conduct a physical evaluation and ask you about your complete medical history, including any allergies, past procedures, health conditions, and any medications/supplements you are taking.
Dr. Emer will ask you about the results you are looking for and then discuss the thigh lift procedure in greater detail. Recovery and preparation steps will be discussed. If you are cleared for the surgery, a date will be set and a surgical plan will be created.
You will be asked to stop smoking a few weeks before the procedure. Dr. Emer will also advise you on which medications to avoid prior to the thigh lift.
A thigh lift and tightening for women requires general anesthesia. After the anesthesia takes effect and the patient is comfortable, fatty tissue is removed using hi-definition liposuction. During liposuction, a cannula is inserted through a very small incision. Medical suction is applied to remove the excess fatty tissue.
The skin is then tightened using Renuvion J-Plasma/helium plasma skin tightening. This combination of inert-helium plasma and radiofrequency energy encourages the tissues to create new collagen and elastin protein.
Finally, an incision will be made to remove excess sagging skin. For a spiral lift, only a tiny incision is required, and it is made in the crease of the groin and buttock roll. For more-extensive removal of skin, an incision may be made on the inner thigh or around the upper thigh.
The incisions will be made in such a way that post-surgical marks can easily be concealed while wearing most types of clothing and swimwear. Underlying tissues will be tightened and reshaped. Finally, incisions will be closed with stitches.
How Long Do the Results of a Thigh Lift and Tightening for Women Last?
Once a thigh lift and tightening for women has been performed, patients can enjoy permanent fat-reduction results. Patients can enjoy long-lasting skin-tightening results, but they must remember that new drooping may occur due to the natural aging process.
To minimize new skin laxity, follow Dr. Emer’s annual maintenance plan. This will be discussed during your consultation. Treatments like RF/ultrasound skin tightening and Sculptra (a collagen stimulator) injections may be recommended.
The Cost of a Thigh Lift & Tightening for Women
The price of thigh contouring varies from patient to patient. The techniques used, total procedure time, anesthesia fees, and amount of tissue removed can all affect the overall cost of a thigh lift and tightening for women.
