What the treatment actually does

He then layers in tissue with a cannula, working through the deeper fat pads to lift the midface and blend the jawline without a lot of bruising. The chin alone took three to four syringes to match the projection of a chin implant, which holds four to six cc's of volume.

Why this is different from what most injectors do
Most providers place filler in the temple within a finger's width of the eye. Dr. Emer goes all the way back into the hairline, because the temple extends that far. Filling only the front leaves a visible rim of the orbit and makes the face look older, not refreshed.
He also works directly on the skull, pressing the cannula into bone to build the gonial angle and the jawline. That requires knowing exactly where the parotid gland and blood vessels sit, because placing filler in the wrong layer can cause serious harm.

What to expect after the session
