Why patients fly in

What Dr. Emer does differently.

In-house hyperbaric chambers at both practice locations

Dr. Emer operates dedicated hyperbaric oxygen chambers in West Hollywood and New York City, eliminating the need for patients to travel to third-party facilities and allowing recovery protocols to be managed entirely within the practice.

“We have another one in New York City. So, if you guys are either New York, Los Angeles, you guys are able to come in, get a hyperbaric session done.”

Spacious chamber design for claustrophobic patients

The chamber is engineered with enough interior space to accommodate patients who experience claustrophobia, with room to bring feet up and move comfortably during the session.

“Really big and spacious. So, for any patients that are claustrophobic, this hyper bear gets spacious. You're able to bring your feet up right there, guys.”

Work-capable recovery sessions

Patients can bring laptops and phones into the chamber, take calls and continue working during the 60 to 90 minute session, integrating recovery into their schedule rather than interrupting it.

“The other great thing is, guys, if you are somebody that's on the go, you can also work from here, take phone calls. So, it's a one-stop shop, my friends.”

Emergency access control from inside

An emergency shutoff valve is accessible from inside the chamber, giving patients immediate control over depressurization if needed.

“We have an emergency uh shut off valve where if you want to get out, you just open that up.”

    The starting point

The chamber increases oxygen concentration in the blood and tissues, which supports cellular repair and reduces inflammation.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy delivers pressurized oxygen to the body, saturating the blood and tissues at levels impossible to achieve by breathing room air. That increased oxygen supports faster resolution of swelling and bruising, better tissue integration after fat grafting or sculpting, and optimized healing at the cellular level.

Surgical recovery and wellness, built into the plan / How it works

Oxygen under pressure. Healing accelerated.

Sessions typically last 60 to 90 minutes. The chamber is spacious enough to work from, take calls, or rest. An emergency shutoff valve is accessible from inside, and the design accommodates patients who are claustrophobic.

Recovery built into the plan

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is part of the aftercare protocol at Dr. Emer's practice, available in both West Hollywood and New York City. The chamber delivers pressurized oxygen to the body, which accelerates healing, reduces swelling, and supports tissue recovery after surgery.

It is also used for wellness, longevity and recovery outside of a surgical context: athletes, executives and patients managing chronic inflammation or seeking optimized healing.

What the chamber actually does

The hyperbaric chamber increases oxygen concentration in the blood and tissues under pressure, which supports cellular repair and reduces inflammation. For surgical patients, that means faster resolution of swelling and bruising, and better tissue integration after procedures like liposculpture, fat grafting or facial sculpting.

Sessions typically last 60 to 90 minutes. The chamber is spacious enough to work from, take calls, or rest. An emergency shutoff valve is accessible from inside, and the design accommodates patients who are claustrophobic.

How a session is built

Four steps. One session.

Planned around your recovery or wellness goals: 60 to 90 minutes per session, scheduled at both locations.

  1. 01

    Enter the chamber

The chamber is spacious and easy to enter. You can bring your phone, laptop, or simply rest.

  2. 02

    Pressurization begins

The chamber pressurizes gradually, and oxygen concentration increases. Most patients feel nothing or a mild sensation similar to an airplane descent.

  3. 03

    Session duration

Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes. You can work, take calls, or rest during the session.

  4. 04

    Depressurization and exit

The chamber depressurizes gradually, and you exit. There is no downtime after a session.

The treatment, explained

What is hyperbaric oxygen therapy?

Also called HBOT, pressurized oxygen therapy, hyperbaric chamber, oxygen therapy for surgical recovery, hyperbaric oxygen for healing.

What it is
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy delivers oxygen to the body under increased atmospheric pressure, saturating blood and tissues at concentrations impossible to achieve by breathing room air. The pressurized environment allows oxygen to dissolve directly into plasma, cerebrospinal fluid and lymph, reaching areas with compromised circulation and supporting cellular repair at a fundamental level.
How it works
The patient enters a spacious chamber that gradually pressurizes to levels above normal atmospheric pressure while delivering pure oxygen. The increased pressure drives oxygen into tissues, reducing inflammation, accelerating resolution of swelling and bruising, and optimizing healing after surgical procedures or supporting wellness goals outside of surgery. Sessions last 60 to 90 minutes, during which patients can work, take calls or rest.
Who it is for
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy fits two patient groups: those recovering from surgical procedures like liposculpture, fat grafting and facial sculpting who use it as part of their aftercare plan to accelerate healing and reduce visible recovery time, and wellness patients seeking recovery from training, management of chronic inflammation, wound healing or general optimization. The chamber design accommodates patients who are claustrophobic.
Recovery
There is no downtime after a hyperbaric oxygen session. Patients exit the chamber after gradual depressurization and resume normal activities immediately. For surgical patients, the number of sessions and timing are decided at consultation based on the procedure and individual healing timeline.
When results show
Surgical patients typically see faster resolution of swelling and bruising, better tissue integration after fat grafting or sculpting, and a shortened visible recovery window. Wellness patients report benefits for training recovery, inflammation management and general optimization. The timeline and specific outcomes are set at consultation based on your goals and treatment plan.

Why Dr. Emer

Recovery is part of the result. Not an afterthought.

Two decades of surgical outcomes, and a protocol that treats healing as seriously as the procedure itself.

Dr. Emer built his reputation on results that last, and recovery is where that outcome is protected. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is one tool in a complete aftercare plan that includes compression, lymphatic support, nutrition and follow-up.

Patients come to him when the result has to be precise and the recovery has to be fast: athletes protecting a training schedule, executives managing a work calendar, and people who have been elsewhere and want it done right.

About Dr. Emer Schedule Consultation
EMER METHOD™×RECODEX™

Surgical recovery

Patients use hyperbaric oxygen as part of their aftercare plan, starting within days of a procedure and continuing through the healing timeline. It accelerates resolution of swelling, supports tissue integration, and shortens the visible recovery window.

Wellness and longevity

Non-surgical patients use hyperbaric oxygen for recovery from training, management of chronic inflammation, wound healing, or general optimization. Sessions are scheduled based on your goals and availability.

Asked plainly, answered plainly

What patients ask before they book.

Is hyperbaric oxygen therapy safe?+

Yes. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is FDA-cleared and widely used in medical settings for wound healing, tissue repair and recovery. The chamber has an emergency shutoff valve accessible from inside, giving you immediate control over depressurization if needed.

What does a hyperbaric oxygen session feel like?+

Most patients feel nothing or a mild sensation similar to an airplane descent during pressurization as the chamber reaches therapeutic pressure. The session itself is comfortable: you can work, take calls or rest for the 60 to 90 minute duration.

How many sessions do I need after surgery?+

The number of hyperbaric oxygen sessions is decided at consultation based on your procedure, healing timeline and recovery goals. Surgical patients typically use it as part of their aftercare plan, starting within days of the procedure and continuing through the healing window.

Can I use hyperbaric oxygen if I am claustrophobic?+

The chamber is spacious and designed to accommodate patients who experience claustrophobia, with enough room to bring your feet up and move comfortably. An emergency shutoff valve is accessible from inside, giving you control over the session.

Can I work during a hyperbaric oxygen session?+

Yes. You can bring your phone and laptop into the chamber, take calls and continue working during the 60 to 90 minute session. Many patients integrate hyperbaric oxygen into their schedule rather than treating it as downtime.

Do I need surgery to use hyperbaric oxygen therapy?+

No. Hyperbaric oxygen is used for both post-surgical recovery and wellness outside of surgery. Non-surgical patients schedule sessions for training recovery, inflammation management, wound healing or general optimization based on their goals.

Is hyperbaric oxygen available at both Dr. Emer locations?+

Yes. Dr. Emer operates dedicated hyperbaric oxygen chambers in West Hollywood and New York City, allowing patients at either location to access the therapy as part of their recovery or wellness plan.

What happens if I need to exit the chamber early?+

An emergency shutoff valve is accessible from inside the chamber. If you need to exit early, you open the valve and the chamber depressurizes gradually, allowing you to leave safely.
