In certain lighting and with movement, the irregularities were visible. Other procedures had also affected the chest area, which was never treated well in the first place.
This is a revision case, and Dr. Emer is seeing more of them lately. When technology is used too aggressively, without proper aftercare, or without the right technique, scar tissue develops and definition fades over time. This session addresses all of it: the scar tissue, the chest, the abs, and a hernia, in one plan.
How the revision is built
Dr. Emer starts with a super wet technique, overfilling the area with tumescent fluid to lift the tissue and push scar tissue away. The skin is thick from prior surgery, so more fluid is necessary to separate the layers and prepare for the next steps.
Ultrasonic liposuction (Vaser) is then used to break apart scar tissue and push fat cells aside. The steam heat from the ultrasound shrinks and smooths the scar tissue. When the fat is removed, it appears whitish, a sign of heavy scar tissue mixed in. Some of that will be purified out for grafting, but removing it allows the skin to tighten significantly.
Renuvion plasma is applied next. Dr. Emer describes it as a game changer for loose skin and scar tissue like this. The plasma shrivels the scar tissue, smoothing out indentations and irregularities and creating a more even surface.
