This patient is athletic and fit, but previous body contouring left him with scar tissue, skin that would not contract properly, and lost definition in the abs. Other procedures had also affected the chest area, which was never treated well in the first place.

When prior surgery leaves scar tissue and lost definition

In certain lighting and with movement, the irregularities were visible. Other procedures had also affected the chest area, which was never treated well in the first place.
This is a revision case, and Dr. Emer is seeing more of them lately. When technology is used too aggressively, without proper aftercare, or without the right technique, scar tissue develops and definition fades over time. This session addresses all of it: the scar tissue, the chest, the abs, and a hernia, in one plan.
How the revision is built
Dr. Emer starts with a super wet technique, overfilling the area with tumescent fluid to lift the tissue and push scar tissue away. The skin is thick from prior surgery, so more fluid is necessary to separate the layers and prepare for the next steps.
Ultrasonic liposuction (Vaser) is then used to break apart scar tissue and push fat cells aside. The steam heat from the ultrasound shrinks and smooths the scar tissue. When the fat is removed, it appears whitish, a sign of heavy scar tissue mixed in. Some of that will be purified out for grafting, but removing it allows the skin to tighten significantly.
Renuvion plasma is applied next. Dr. Emer describes it as a game changer for loose skin and scar tissue like this. The plasma shrivels the scar tissue, smoothing out indentations and irregularities and creating a more even surface.

Tumescent fluid is overfilled to lift tissue and push scar tissue away. Ultrasonic lipo (Vaser) breaks apart scar tissue and pushes fat cells aside. The steam heat from the ultrasound shrinks and smooths scar tissue.

Renuvion plasma to smooth irregularities
Renuvion plasma is applied to shrivel scar tissue, smooth out indentations and irregularities, and create a more even surface.

Fat grafting to rebuild the chest
Purified fat, with stem cells and exosomes added to help it survive, is grafted to sculpt and define the chest borders, remove puffy tissue, and lift and define the chest.

Hernia repair from inside
The hernia is repaired from the inside, without opening the skin from the outside. The hole is tightened and the fat that came from inside the belly is placed back into the area, closing the hernia without external incisions.

Strategic filler to enhance the abs
A combination of a permanent filler and a non-permanent filler is placed into the abs, adhering into the tissue and into the fascia of the muscle to create more definition. A small amount of fat is also placed into the fascia and muscle to volumize areas where prior surgery created indentations.
