FRACTORA SKIN REMODELING

Conveniently located to serve Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Los Angeles, NYC, and Miami.

At our West Hollywood medical practice, we refer to Fractora radiofrequency skin remodeling as “microneedling on steroids.” Fractora combines radiofrequency (RF) energy with deeper-reaching microneedles to give this treatment a significant edge when it comes to revitalizing blemished, irregular, scarred, and aging skin. Board-certified dermatologist and skin rejuvenation expert Dr. Jason Emer enhances his patients’ Fractora results by strategically performing complementary procedures that support long-term collagen-building.

WHAT IS FRACTORA SKIN REMODELING?

InMode Fractora is a transformative microneedling RF device that delivers RF energy deep beneath the skin’s surface to address a range of skin conditions at once. Fractora can treat:

Active cystic acne | Acne scars | Pigmentation | Large pores | Textural issues or irregularities | Crepey skin | Aging skin | Fine lines and wrinkles | Skin laxity – particularly in the neck, jawline areas, knees, elbows, and buttocks

With two pin densities available (24 pins at 3 mm depth or 60 pins at 1 mm depth) and various energy strength settings, Fractora radiofrequency skin remodeling treatments are tailored to each patient’s unique needs and comfort level.

RIGHT FOR YOU?

IS FRACTORA SAFE FOR MY SKIN TYPE?

Fractora radiofrequency skin remodeling is safe on all skin types with little risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) as compared to lasers, particularly for those with darker skin types, mixed ethnicities, or extremely sensitive skin. Regardless, when treating patients with darker skin tones, our aestheticians will prepare the skin with a lightening peel, such as Reve Skin Enlighten Mask or Cosmelan Peel, to help suppress pigment production and ensure a safer and more effective treatment.

Fractora is also available in both coated and uncoated tips. Uncoated tips are intended for lighter skin types while coated tips are ideal for darker skin tones and those susceptible to hyperpigmentation with any energy-based therapy. This protective coating spares the skin’s surface from receiving excessive radiofrequency energy, further reducing the risk of PIH and allowing for more frequent treatments.

DOES FRACTORA RF SKIN REMODELING WORK?

For many patients, Fractora is ideal for non-surgical, minimally-invasive skin rejuvenation. Fractora stimulates the formation of new collagen through microchannels of energy; prompts subdermal skin tightening; and improves the skin’s elasticity for remarkable short-term and long-term results. According to InMode, the outcomes include “improvement in skin complexion, reduction in skin irregularities and restoring skin to a more youthful appearance.” Fractora has also been shown to improve acne scarring by up to 50%.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A FRACTORA TREATMENT

Fractora is deeper than a standard microneedling treatment, so patients can experience discomfort during the procedure. To ensure your comfort, Dr. Emer can apply topical numbing cream, pre-ice, give oral medications, or inject nerve blocks into the treatment area.

When prepped with numbing medication, most patients report the sensation of light needle pricks in the skin and heat in the treatment area. During the treatment, Dr. Emer can offset the heat with a handheld Zimmer cooling device to desensitize the skin.

Throughout the skin remodeling process, Dr. Emer and his physician assistant aestheticians will keep the skin flat and taut while creating a stamping pattern over the treatment area—either in single or double pulses, depending on the desired intensity level—until minimal pinpoint bleeding is visible. Pinpoint bleeding is an indicator that the pins are delivering high-energy radiofrequency energy to the dermis layer of the skin, creating collagen synthesis, evening the skin’s texture, and remodeling the skin.

INMODE FRACTORA OR INMODE MORPHEUS8

Both Fractora and Morpheus8 are microneedling RF devices that can improve the quality and appearance of your skin. Fractora is a deeper treatment than most microneedling procedures and is commonly used to revise acne scars. Morpheus8 goes beyond Fractora’s maximum depth, making it a better option for patients who have more advanced scarring or are looking for more significant skin tightening of the face, neck, or body. InMode Morpheus8 can achieve up to 4 mm of depth (compared to 3 mm with Fractora) and delivers thermal energy 5 mm beneath the skin’s surface.

The results of InMode Fractora and InMode Morpheus8 are evident in both the short- and long-term. Skin tightening effects will be visible soon after treatment and will continue to improve over the course of 12 weeks. A knowledgeable and experienced dermatologist like Dr. Emer can determine whether Fractora or Morpheus8 is the best microneedling RF option for achieving your desired outcome.

THE DR. EMER DIFFERENCE

HOW DOES DR. EMER DO FRACTORA DIFFERENTLY?

A pioneer of combination approaches for skin rejuvenation, Dr. Jason Emer uses Fractora as a complement to other treatments and procedures to achieve never-before-seen outcomes and provide substantial improvements in skin texture.

Dr. Emer consistently exceeds his patients’ expectations by incorporating Fractora into a wide range of multi-faceted skin rejuvenation protocols. For example:

Dr. Emer often combines Fractora with the Clear + Brilliant laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Therapy to brighten the skin’s complexion and address hyperpigmentation issues such as hormonal and stress-related pigmentation (melasma) as well as sun damage.

When injectable fillers such as Bellafill are used to plump up depressed, atrophic acne scars and stimulate collagen production in the injected areas, Fractora can then soften and break down the thickened scar tissue.

Fractora radiofrequency skin remodeling is the perfect follow-up treatment to Neck Liposuction procedures, providing additional neck skin tightening from the top down. For patients who opt for the non-surgical InMode FaceTite “Mini Facelift and Necklift,” Dr. Emer recommends periodic treatment with Fractora or Morpheus8 to maintain the results of the procedure.

Dr. Emer will use Fractora or Morpheus8 immediately after any number of surgical and nonsurgical procedures, including breast lifts, liposuction, and internal heating with devices like InMode BodyTite and Renuvion (J Plasma) radiofrequency helium plasma, to promote more comprehensive skin tightening.

When combined with the ablative CO2, Erbium, or Fraxel Laser Resurfacing, Dr. Emer is able to address multiple layers of the skin—the deep and the superficial—in a single session to get both tightening and brightening results.

Fractora radiofrequency skin remodeling is also an effective preventive treatment that can delay signs of aging, such as preventing crepey skin around the eyes and above the eyelid.

For the treatment of stubborn acne scars, Dr. Emer will often combine Fractora with complementary lasers and peels as well as weekly or bi-monthly microneedling treatments with PRP.

TESTIMONIALS

WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER A FRACTORA TREATMENT?

Downtime varies depending on the extent of the treatment and the strength of the radiofrequency energy setting. For the most part, patients experience minimal downtime with one to three days of redness, mild swelling, and a rough, sandpaper feeling on the skin that can last for one to two weeks.

For patients who would benefit from multiple Fractora treatments, we typically recommend sessions every four to six weeks to allow for adequate healing between procedures. As with most treatments in our office, Fractora has a cumulative effect: more sessions means more improvement.

AFTERCARE

WHAT IS THE AFTERCARE PROTOCOL FOR FRACTORA PATIENTS?

Following the Fractora radiofrequency skin remodeling procedure, Dr. Emer and his expert aestheticians recommend a soothing skin care protocol to accelerate healing and minimize downtime. You will receive personalized recommendations for your ideal post-procedure skin care regimen, which may include the following:

A VITAMIN B & C MASK

to be applied immediately after treatment

an exfoliating mask that digests dead epidermal cells and accelerates improvements related to skin rejuvenation, acne, hyperpigmentation, and scar reduction (best when paired with Jan Marini Clean Zyme face cleanser)

a lightening and brightening cleanser that is safe for all skin types and can be used on both the face and body

a Broad Spectrum sunscreen with DNA Repairsomes™, UVB/UVA protection, and antioxidants that shield your skin from actinic damage and sunburns

a powerful 3-in-1 product that improves skin firmness; diminishes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles; and enhances skin tone, giving mature, photo-aged skin a rejuvenated, youthful radiance

TOPICALS

such as AnteAge GF Serum (a pro healing formula that reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, redness, and sensitivity), PRP, and A-Cell stem therapy to continue cellular turnover and heal all of the micro-injuries caused in treatment

HOW MUCH DOES FRACTORA COST?

The size of the treatment area(s), the severity of your cosmetic skin concerns, and the number of sessions needed to achieve your desired results will affect the price of your Fractora treatment. Dr. Emer will review his treatment recommendations and all associated costs with you at your initial consultation.
