Local or general anesthesia can be used for face and neck lipo procedures. Prior to your procedure, Dr. Emer will discuss your options for anesthesia and help you choose the best method for your needs.
Once the anesthesia has taken effect, Dr. Emer can begin the liposuction treatment. He will make tiny incisions that allow him to access the unwanted fat. He may use the ultrasound-assisted VASER lipo method or a water-assisted method called Body Jet to gently separate fat cells from the surrounding tissue.
Once the fat cells have been dislodged, Dr. Emer can insert a small tube called a cannula. Suction is then used to draw the fat cells through the cannula and out of the body.

Neck and face lipo requires some downtime to allow the treated areas to fully heal. Swelling and bruising are normal during the lipo recovery process. Dr. Emer may advise that you wear compression garments to reduce these symptoms and help your skin form to your new facial contours.
Additional aftercare therapies like hyperbaric oxygen therapy and/or IV therapy can also help to accelerate your recovery. Dr. Emer will provide a personalized aftercare protocol based on your specific procedure.

While some improvements may be visible after a few days, you will not notice more significant changes until post-procedure swelling subsides. Depending on the areas treated and your body’s natural healing response, you may start to see results within two to four weeks.
Gradual improvements will continue as the healing process progresses. Final results are typically visible after about one to three months. You can enjoy your thinner, more feminine, and more youthful facial and neck contours for many years by following a healthy diet and exercise regimen.
