RESTYLANE
Conveniently located to serve Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Los Angeles, NYC, and Miami.
Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid (HA) filler to be approved by the FDA and enter the aesthetics market. Since then, the product line has expanded to include several HA fillers that can address a wide range of facial contouring concerns.
After years of perfecting his injection technique and trusting Restylane to deliver consistent, natural-looking improvements, facial sculpting expert Dr. Jason Emer considers this HA filler essential to many of his most celebrated combination treatment protocols.
WHAT IS RESTYLANE?
Restylane is a family of dermal fillers that contain hyaluronic acid. These fillers are used to address signs of aging throughout the face and to provide facial feature enhancements, such as lip or cheek augmentation.
Hyaluronic acid is a substance that naturally occurs in the body and functions to keep the skin hydrated and plump. As the aging process progresses, the body produces less HA, which has a noticeable effect on the facial appearance.
You may find that your face has lost volume, that the skin is no longer full and taut, that you have fine lines and wrinkles, and/or that you have under-eye hollows. Restylane injections help mitigate these effects by restoring lost volume and establishing a more robust concentration of HA in the treated area(s).

WHICH RESTYLANE FILLER IS RIGHT FOR ME?
WHAT DOES A RESTYLANE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
Dr. Emer performs Restylane injections right in the office and typically in 30 minutes or less. First, an antiseptic solution will be used to clear the treatment site(s) of oil, debris, or other contaminants.
Restylane contains lidocaine, which provides a numbing effect and reduces discomfort. If you are worried about pain during the injection process, a topical numbing agent can be applied in the treatment area to ease any uncomfortable sensations you might feel during the injections.
Based on your facial anatomy and aesthetic concerns, the doctor will carefully select your injection site(s). Using a very fine needle, Restylane is then injected under the skin to achieve the desired volume increase and contouring improvements.
Each patient responds differently to Restylane filler injections, but recoery is generally short and involves minimal discomfort. Any post-treatment bruising, swelling, or redness should subside within about a week. You’ll be advised to stay out of the sun to keep bruising and swelling to a minimum.
In some cases, no downtime is needed, and you will not need to miss any work. If your treatment includes a greater number of injections, or if you are prone to swelling or bruising, you may want to plan to take a day off to recover.
Blood thinning medications and supplements can prolong the recovery period. As long as it is medically safe for you to do so, it is recommended that you avoid taking blood thinners for about a week prior to your injections. Be sure to talk to the doctor about all of your medications during your consultation, so he can best advise you on how to prepare for your Restylane injections.
