WHAT IS AN ELASTY LINE THREAD LIFT?
An Elasty Line thread lift is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that elevates, smooths, and tightens sagging skin. Miracu® Elasty Line threads are one type of PDO thread offered by this innovative company for use in thread lifting procedures.
PDO threads are incredibly thin strands of a biocompatible polymer called polydioxanone (PDO). This material can be safely absorbed by the body, which is why it is used to make dissolvable sutures for medical use, as well.

It is important that candidates understand that while noticeable rejuvenation can be anticipated, a non-surgical PDO thread lift is not intended to provide as dramatic a change as cosmetic surgery.

At this appointment, he will physically examine the tissue in the treatment area and ask you some questions about your health, currently prescribed medications, and medical history.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR AN ELASTY LINE THREAD LIFT
During your consultation, Dr. Emer will explain what to do and not do prior to your PDO thread lift. Your preparation instructions will be personalized to you based on the treatment area(s) and whether your Elasty Line thread lift is being performed as a singular procedure or as part of a combination protocol.
General guidelines to keep in mind in the 24 hours leading up to your procedure include:
- Stop drinking alcohol
- Abstain from smoking and vaping
- Do not take aspirin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like ibuprofen and naproxen

WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR ELASTY LINE TREATMENT APPOINTMENT
Since general anesthesia is not required for a non-surgical PDO thread lift, Dr. Emer performs this treatment at his state-of-the-art medical practice in West Hollywood. At the start of an Elasty Line procedure, local anesthetic is administered at the treatment site(s). This medication will prevent you from experiencing discomfort during the procedure.
Dr. Emer will then identify the optimal sites for placing the Elasty Line PDO threads based on the aesthetic concerns discussed during your consultation, as well as your anatomy. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, Dr. Emer will use a specialized, ultrafine needle to insert the first Elasty Line thread beneath the skin.
The PDO thread will be adjusted, as needed, to ensure it is securely anchored in the underlying tissue to provide both a subtle lift and natural-looking skin tightening. Dr. Emer can then remove the needle and proceed to the next insertion site to repeat the process until he has completed your Elasty Line thread lift.

WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT RECOVERY AND AFTERCARE
You will need to avoid vigorous exercise, strenuous lifting, and becoming overheated, such as using a sauna, for a week or two after your Elasty Line PDO thread lift, but patients typically find the recovery period does not cause much disruption to their regular routine. In instances where patients experience post-procedure tenderness and/or swelling, these symptoms tend to be minor and to resolve within a few days.
It is important that you do not massage or rub the treatment area for seven days to ensure you do not displace the threads accidentally. Do not apply makeup to the treated area for about 48 hours. Dr. Emer will advise you regarding gentle cleansing and moisturizing products to use during the recovery period.
PDO thread lifts are most commonly performed to lift and tighten facial tissue, in which case you may need to modify your sleeping position. It is imperative that you do not subject the treatment site to pressure in the initial days of your recovery, so sleeping on your side or stomach is generally not advisable after a non-surgical facelift with Elasty Line PDO threads.
If you have Elasty Line threads placed in the midface and/or lower face, you will also be given instructions regarding certain facial movements and activities to avoid, such as drinking through a straw and smoking. It may be necessary to temporarily restrict your diet to exclude foods that require you to open your mouth widely or chew excessively, as well.

Though it will take several weeks to see the impact of the body’s increased collagen production, many patients notice firmer skin and more lifted contours immediately after an Elasty Line PDO thread lift. The treated tissue will adapt to the threads within about two weeks, so
