WHAT IS MESHFILL?
Meshfill is a two-in-one treatment that capitalizes on the facial sculpting and rejuvenating benefits of cosmetic thread lifting and injectable fillers. With this non-surgical facelift treatment, patients can enjoy visibly fuller, more youthful facial contours. Meshfill also stimulates the body’s natural collagen production process to support firm, healthy skin long-term.
This innovative treatment interweaves 16 mesh threads into a hollow, cylinder-shaped structure. When these mesh threads are placed between the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) and the dermis, they function as a scaffold under the skin.
The interwoven matrix adds instant volume, subtly lifts tissue, and tightens skin in the treatment area. After 14 days, soft tissue grows through the gaps in the mesh thread scaffold, affixing Meshfill to the SMAS and dermis.
Meshfill is designed to be used in combination with dermal filler injections to for optimal improvements in volumization and lifting. Dr. Emer can use various cosmetic fillers, as well as autologous fat injections, to complement the effects of Meshfill threads. In addition to extending the longevity of filler results, pairing mesh threads and fillers is advantageous in several other ways.
The mesh thread matrix prevents a common issue with hyaluronic fillers, which is unwanted filler migration. Meshfill threads work to hold the filler in place, facilitating more predictable outcomes. Additionally, when diffusion is minimized, less filler is required to achieve significant plumping, so volume can be restored without creating an “overfilled” look.
