Plasma Pen
PLASMA PEN
WHAT IS A PLASMA PEN TREATMENT?
Plasma Pen is a cosmetic device that can rejuvenate the skin, tighten sagging skin, and minimize wrinkles. It is particularly effective at improving skin texture and smoothing crepey skin.
Dr. Emer can perform Plasma Pen procedures on the face, neck, or body. Common treatment areas include:
- Brows (non-invasive brow lift)
- Eyelids (crow’s feet, drooping eyelids)
- Lips (smoker’s lines and marionette lines)
- Nasolabial folds (smile lines)
- Neck (jowls, skin laxity)
- Chest (wrinkling, sun spots)
- Breasts (wrinkling, sagging, age spots)
- Stomach (sagging skin and stretch marks)
- Arms (crepey skin)
- Legs (crepey, loose skin)
- Knees (knee wrinkles)
HOW DOES PLASMA PEN WORK?
This non-invasive treatment delivers a micro-electrical charge, which heats the surface layer of the skin. To create the electrical pulse, the device combines oxygen and nitrogen to create an arc of plasma which travels from the device to the skin. The actual device never comes into contact with the skin.
Each tiny electrical charge creates a micro-injury that appears as a small dot. The micro-injuries kickstart the body’s natural collagen production process to create stronger, tighter, and smoother skin.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING PLASMA PEN TREATMENT
Dr. Emer will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the skin in the treatment area to start. In some cases, injectable nerve blocks can be used to limit pain completely. Patients typically feel a small shock or tingling sensation with each plasma discharge. Most patients report minimal discomfort during the procedure.
To minimize post-treatment redness and swelling, Dr. Emer will perform LED red light therapy in-office after your Plasma Pen treatment. He will also provide detailed instructions for at-home LED LightStim therapy, so you can continue to support the healing process and accelerate your results.

The Dr. Emer Difference
PLASMA PEN
Dr. Emer makes it a priority to stay on the leading edge of advancements in cosmetic dermatology. He does extensive research before adding any new treatment to his top-of-the-line selection of technologies and devices. Through his research and experience, he has found Plasma Pen to be a highly effective treatment option, and he has developed a refined technique for the procedure.
To minimize healing time and maximize results, Dr. Emer often recommends a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment in combination with the Plasma Pen procedure. PRP is a serum made from your own blood that contains a high concentration of growth factors and platelets. PRP can enhance the results of many cosmetic skin rejuvenation treatments, including Plasma Pen, by reducing healing time and encouraging collagen production.
