WHAT TO EXPECT DURING A VENUS VIVA PROCEDURE
At the start of your Venus Viva procedure, Dr. Emer will offer topical numbing cream and/or pro-nox, an inhaled gas comprised of oxygen and nitrous oxide that helps relieve pain in mere seconds and has no residual effects. Once you are comfortable, Dr. Emer will begin your skin resurfacing procedure by applying the device to the treatment areas. A skilled practitioner like Dr. Emer is able to ensure that the device is administered evenly and thoroughly to achieve aesthetic results.
Patients may experience a mild pricking sensation and feel heat building beneath the skin’s surface as Dr. Emer presses the handpiece into the skin. Dr. Emer may perform multiple passes over certain areas to target specific concerns, such as individual acne scars, wrinkles, or sunspots.
What makes Venus Viva unique, other than its remarkable versatility, is that its settings are customizable. For moderate-strength treatments, patients typically experience up to three to five days of mild swelling and redness with some light peeling. To reduce inflammation and downtime, Dr. Emer provides his patients with an at-home care protocol, which includes LightStim LED Light Therapy, revitalizing masks, and skin care products to accelerate the healing process.

After a single Venus Viva session, patients may notice that their skin is moderately brighter and smoother. However, a series of treatments (typically three to six) is ideal for achieving more noticeable results. Each treatment builds on previous Venus Viva sessions by continuing to boost collagen production for long-term improvements in skin tone and texture.
