Radiesse

Radiesse is a type of dermal filler used in cosmetic procedures to add volume and correct wrinkles in the face. It’s made of calcium hydroxyapatite, a substance similar to the mineral found in bones.

Radiesse works in two ways:
* Immediate volume restoration: The gel component of Radiesse provides instant lift and correction of wrinkles.
* Collagen stimulation: Over time, Radiesse stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen, a protein that provides structural support to the skin. This leads to longer-lasting results.

Pros:
Provides immediate and long-lasting (up to a year) results.
Relatively safe with minimal side effects.
Can be used for various facial areas like cheeks, nasolabial folds (lines from nose to mouth), and marionette lines (lines around the mouth).

Cons:
Can be more expensive than some other fillers.
May cause temporary side effects like bruising, swelling, and redness.
Not suitable for everyone, especially those with allergies to calcium hydroxyapatite or lidocaine (anesthetic often used with Radiesse).

Alternatives: There are many other dermal fillers available, each with its own pros and cons. Some popular options include Juvederm, Restylane, and Sculptra.

Recovery time: Most people can resume normal activities immediately after Radiesse injection. However, some minor swelling and bruising may occur, resolving within a few days.
